After reviewing the individual schedules with each resource, the Engagement Manager should then review the utilization
of each resource, by looking for any over and under allocations of time, i.e. where a resource is working more or less
than their contracted hours. If any allocation problems are found, the Engagement Manager must resolve these by
optimizing the individuals work schedule.
Whenever a change in team responsibility occurs within an integrated team environment, the Engagement Manager should
review the structure of the team and the assigned tasks. By doing this, a level of assurance can be gained that the
tasks can still be performed and deliver to expectations. If they can’t, then these expectations need to be revised and
relevant stakeholders informed accordingly.
There are some inter-dependencies between this task and the next task (Assign Tasks To Team Members), so when reviewing
the individual schedules for each team member, the Engagement Manager must consider the following:
-
What tasks are still to be completed.
-
What tasks are due to start.
-
What tasks are being assigned to the team member.
It is important to ensure that individual work schedules for each team member are evenly utilized, realistic and
achievable; otherwise the morale of the individual and the overall team could be affected.
